Tourists in the Park
A bike itinerary to discover the dwellings of the Counts D’Arco, a noble Mantuan family that was at its height between the 18th and 20th century. Their palace in town is a remarkable example of Neoclassical architecture, whose inside safeguards several masterpieces: the gorgeous Zodiac Room, the museum of natural science, and many valuable paintings. The D’Arco elegant summer residence, on the other side, is set in a small romantic wood, home to Italy’s highest gingko biloba tree and to many species of exotic plants on which storks nest; the house is also a Visitor Centre of Mincio Park.
